GhostSurf with Zone Alarm

Introduction

GhostSurf is designed to work with all firewalls. For your convenience, we have included this section for Zone Alarm users. With Zone Alarm as with all personal firewalls, you simply need to tell the firewall to allow GhostSurf to connect to the Internet. Without this, GhostSurf cannot send your requests to the Internet, and retrieve the consequent pages and images. If you're using GhostSurf in multi-user mode, you'll also need to tell your firewall to allow connections on port 7212.

The Messages

When you first start GhostSurf, Zone Alarm will recognize that it is waiting for connections (from your browser) and will display the message above. Note that Zone Alarm incorrectly identifies GhostSurf as "Architecture launch vehicle," but does indicate that it is indeed GhostSurf that is trying to connect by listing "GhostSurf.exe."

For this message, you can choose either "Yes" or "No." If you choose "No," Zone Alarm will not allow other programs outside your computer to connect to GhostSurf. This is fine unless you're using GhostSurf in multi-user mode (you want other computers to connect to GhostSurf on yours); if you want to use GhostSurf in multi-user mode, you must choose "No."

When GhostSurf begins to do its work (downloading and testing anonymous hubs, or simply fulfilling your requests) the message above will appear. Here you must choose "Yes;" if you don't allow GhostSurf to connect to the Internet, it will be no use to you at all.
